What should be the height of the paddle?
To be able to get the right size of the paddle, there are two main factors: the height of the paddler and what is the primary use of the SUP.
There are also adjustable paddles that are available in the market. If you wish for a specific
height, here’s the main guideline:
Surf SUP paddles are 6-8 inches above the paddlers height mainly because of the lower stance needed in surfing.
Flatwater SUP paddles are 8-10 inches above the paddlers height so it can improve the reach and the power of every paddle stroke.
Racing SUP paddles are 10-12 inches above the paddlers height to help to reach the maximum and aid in powering the speed in every paddle stroke.
