There’s quite a trend about a DIY faux fur rug. Why not? Actually, for some it’s easy to do a DIY rug. It can also cost you less and can even save you some money.
How to make a faux fur rug? Here are the materials first that you’ll need:
Materials you’ll need for a 5×7 rug
• anti-slip rug underlay (large size)
• 3 yards of 64″-wide faux fur
• Velcro strips
• Hot glue
Here are the easy steps for a DIY faux fur 5x7 rug.
• Resize
First, lay out the rug underlay and the faux fur fabric and cut them together to be of the same size. In this case, 5×7 feet.
• Velcro
Lay the fur face-down on the floor, lay the underlay on top and get them perfectly lined up together. The underlay is anti-slip so it’ll stay in place pretty well while you work. Now you need to fold back the corner of the underlay and hot glue the velcro strips in the corner.
Then put hot glue on the other half of the velcro, and lay the underlay back onto the fabric so the velcro gets glued to the fabric. You can add some more velcro down the edges of the rug for extra security and to be sure it holds together longer.
Another way is to sew the velcro to the faux fur and underlay. One more easy option since the underlay is anti-slip so it holds the fabric in place and adds extra cushion; you can just sew the faux fur and underlay together.
