It is important to achieve at least 60% alcohol content of your entire mixture. 60% of alcohol content is the minimum amount recommended to effectively kill germs. To make a cup of hand sanitizer gel with aloe vera, mix ¾ cup of alcohol, ¼ cup aloe vera gel, and at least 10 drops of essential oil.
