How to make hand sanitizer with aloe vera? There are three basic ingredients to make hand sanitizer with aloe vera.
- Alcohol (preferably 99%)
- Aloe vera gel
- Essential oil (preferably tea tree oil for additional germ-killing power, scent, and for moisturizing)
It is important to achieve at least 60% alcohol content of your entire mixture. 60% of alcohol content is the minimum amount recommended to effectively kill germs. A good ratio to follow is the 3:1 ratio. This means 3 parts of alcohol to 1 part of aloe vera gel. To make a cup of hand sanitizer gel with aloe vera, mix ¾ cup of alcohol, ¼ cup aloe vera gel, and at least 10 drops of essential oil.
Mix all these ingredients to a bowl and be sure to mix it to a whisk. This will ensure that all ingredients mix together well. After mixing, put the mixture to a clean dispensing PET bottle and label it with “hand sanitizer”.
